Navigating Through Change
Survive and Prosper Amid Continual Change

Audience
Leaders and managers who are responsible for the coaching and development of others. A program designed for individual contributors is also available.

Users Include:
Hewlett-Packard, Amgen, Marriott, Dun & Bradstreet, Chase Manhattan, Chemical Bank.

Program Benefits
Navigating Through Change, from Pantelis, Inc., prepares managers and employees for the impact of change and provides them with knowledge and practical skills to help them move through it. Based on the best-selling book by Dr. Harry Woodward, Navigating Through Change offers a systematic, process-oriented approach to making successful transitions in a rapidly changing and stressful environment. The program will help your organization:
  • retain good people
  • improve employee morale
  • reduce absenteeism
  • achieve cost reductions
  • improve customer service
  • lessen ambiguity and increase focus organization-wide

Program Description
Before the Navigating Through Change workshop, a Change Readiness Survey, based on proven research, is used to assess the current change environment. During the workshop, participants learn the skills to:

  • understand today's rapidly changing business environment
  • understand human reactions to change—both their own and those of their associates
  • develop essential skills and strategies to address their own issues and guide others through the change process

As the workshop progresses, participants move through five key areas of understanding and develop and practice skills in each:

Module 1: Taking Chaos Seriously – participants learn strategizing skills to help themselves and their associates take action in a changing environment

Module 2: Communications – participants practice communicating effectively, both to a group and one-on-one

Module 3: Fostering Openness – participants learn the self-management skills to deal with their own reaction to change

Module 4: Encouraging Experimentation – participants learn the innovation skills that encourage and nurture new ideas

Module 5: Providing Support – participants learn how to effectively listen and respond to the concerns of associates during change

Implementation/Customization
The program is available in a one-day version for individual contributors and a two-day version for managers. The manager version includes a pre-workshop Change Readiness Survey that is used to assess the current change environment. Workshops can be implemented for groups of 15 to 100 participants and are customized to support each organization’s strategic initiatives. A strategic Change Planning Guide can also be developed to support performance and refresh learning after the workshop.
