Overview
Values: Team Kit, from The Real Learning Company and Change Works Solutions, rapidly builds agreement about the team, department and organizational best practices needed to serve organizational and customer needs. This knowledge transfer occurs as participants explore and create a set of guiding and lasting values that become actionable when participants collectively identify and agree upon supporting behaviors

Key Results
Values: Team Kit is an extremely powerful way to build organizational alignment while also providing a process through which teams can continue to identify best practices that are in agreement with corporate values. Specific results include:
  • faster knowledge transfer between and within groups
  • reduced variation in work performance – the “bar is raised” to progressively higher levels as best practices become more widely known and practiced

The Values; Team Kit program increases commitment and alignment. As a result of the program, participants can:

  • identify and explore their most important work values
  • develop a deep understanding of the organization and leaders' values
  • articulate the set of collective values and beliefs that will guide both individual and team actions
  • use a simple methodology to explore the modification or creation of values for future work groups or teams.

Program Description
Values: Team Kit begins when natural work teams gather in groups of 4-8 around a learning map. Each participant is given a deck of 54 Value Cards and sorts them by order of importance. These sorts are shared among the group, enabling each person to gain insight into their own value criteria as well as that of their teammates. The group then creates a set of six core values that they would like their team to work by. This is done through discussion and consensus, thereby producing a deep understanding of the meaning and context of each selected value. Based on this experience, teams select 6-10 organizational values and discuss which behaviors they need to see more or less of in order to fully realize the values potential.

As an optional exercise, the leader can take the opportunity to share his/her personal top ten values, enabling participants to better understand his or her perspective. Participants leave Values: Team Kit highly motivated and with a new and shared purpose.

Each participant receives Foundations software which reinforces Values: Team Kit's primary outcomes. Managers may also experience Values: Team Kit on their own, obtaining the materials and knowledge to take their teams through the program back on the job.

Implementation/Customization
Values: Team Kit can be run for groups as small as four and as large as 1,000. Automated systems to accelerate the capture, analysis, and presentation of information are available to support large group implementations. The Values: Team Kit implementation that utilizes The Advantage Waysm builds participant expectations of applying the knowledge from the program in specific applications. Performance support elements that follow the program further assure translation of classroom learning to the workplace.
