Advantage Performance Group Debuts in 'Top Bay Area Company' Rankings, Achieves Record Sales in 2003

Leading Human Performance Management Firm’s Success Due to Services that Fuel Client Growth by Linking Training Initiatives to Business Results

TIBURON, Calif. (Feb. 24, 2004) - Advantage Performance Group (APG), the world’s largest human performance consulting network, started last year on a rapid growth trajectory which placed it on two top (San Francisco) Bay Area company lists, as compiled by the San Francisco Business Times. In addition, for the year ending December 31, 2003, APG achieved a 16% increase in revenues over the previous year. These results can be attributed to growth in its consulting network and the October launch of APG’s breakthrough training implementation method, The Advantage Way®.

In the San Francisco Business Times Book of Lists 2003, which was published in December 2003, APG appeared in two categories: the top 100 largest private companies list and the top 25 management consulting firms list. The lists were determined based on revenues and number of consultants respectively and ranked companies in the Bay Area, specifically the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and the city of Palo Alto. 2003 marks the first year that APG was included in either listing.

"2003 was a banner year for APG – more and more organizations are leveraging the talent of our partners for human performance solutions that really impact specific business goals," said Glenn Jackson, co-founder and president of APG. "Based on the current sales pipeline for this year alone, APG is likely to continue the upward trend in 2004."

APG also attributes its success to the new, more rigorous approach companies are taking to training expenditures as the economy begins its recovery. No longer content to fund training just for the sake of having a curriculum or catalog of courses, these organizations are tapping APG experts to help them establish a clear connection between human resources initiatives, most often training, and business goals. The set of tools used to achieve this linkage comprise the newly launched The Advantage Way®, which seeks to reduce wasted training dollars, estimated at up to an astounding 90% of expenditures by some accounts. The Advantage Way® offers an approach that provides clear and well documented results to support any continued investments in these training initiatives.

In 2003, APG also reported a record number of new clients, year-over-year revenue growth, and an increase in average spending per client. Even more impressive, these achievements took place in a space where the average training firm is experiencing stagnant growth.

About The Advantage Way®
In 2003, Advantage Performance Group launched a relationship with learning effectiveness and measurement expert Dr. Robert O. Brinkerhoff. The relationship with Dr Brinkerhoff and with the Real Learning Company led to the development of The Advantage Way®. The result of years of research, this innovative approach is based on Brinkerhoff’s High Impact Learning System which has been enthusiastically embraced by global organizations such as American Express, Delta Airlines, Motorola, Merck, QUALCOMM, Boeing, and Hewlett-Packard. By focusing on a systemic approach to evaluation that actively involves managers as partners with the training department, client organizations can build shared ownership for the learning-performance process. The result is that companies using The Advantage Way® get the maximum value out of their training investment.
