A story or two for you

“Purposeful storytelling isn’t show business, it’s good business.”
Peter Guber

We just added two great stories to our website that we’d like to also share here in case they might resonate with similar needs in your organization. Both are about large organizations with pressing problems we helped solve with initiatives that later earned some award-winning recognition.

The first story is about SAP, the world’s largest provider of enterprise application software. SAP needed to get their new and inexperienced presales managers up to speed quickly, but a months-long wait to attend their in-house academy was causing lost confidence and missed opportunities. When SAP turned to us as its long-time learning solutions partner, we offered the software giant an important bit of advice – think small.

The result? A custom, just-in-time mobile learning journey via our thought leader partners at 1st90 that is accelerating sales at SAP in less than 10 minutes a day. The initiative was so successful that Brandon Hall Group awarded Advantage, 1st90, and SAP a silver Excellence in Technology Award for Best Advance in Mobile Learning Technology.

The second story is about America’s largest grocery retailer, the Kroger Company. In response to the social justice movement fueled in May 2020 by the death of George Floyd and others, Kroger decided to speak out, listen to its associates, and put in place a framework to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion and promote positive change in the workplace and in the communities they serve.

To address unconscious bias and DEI with its more than 6,700 leaders, Kroger collaborated with us as their long-time training partner to implement a learning program called The Inclusive Leader. Designed by our thought leaders at Ten Thousand Feet, the program raises awareness of, empathy for, and solutions to alleviate DEI challenges experienced by associates. The ultimate outcome establishes a mindset of inclusiveness throughout the organization, and gives people practical steps for taking action.

This year, Advantage, Kroger, and Ten Thousand Feet shared a Brandon Hall Group bronze award for Best Learning Program that Supports and Promotes Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion.
