Talent Development Tuesday - People, planet, profit (leaf icon with heart)

People, planet, profit

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead

Mother Earth, we love you. It’s time we took better care of you on behalf of future generations. Is your organization heeding the call to become more sustainable?

We’re excited to share a cutting-edge new experience from our thought leader partners at Celemi that helps participants discover how to help their organizations be profitable and sustainable.

“The notion of sustainability is very timely in the world as well as in our client base,” our President & CEO Jonathan Hodge said at a recent internal Zoom session during which Celemi, Inc. President Libby Macomber introduced us to their new solution. She gave us insight into how we can tap into the experience to help you close the sustainability gaps in your strategic initiatives.

In 1987, the United Nations defined sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

This year, Celemi defines what that means for a company: “Sustainability is about maximizing value for customers, employees and society, while minimizing emissions, impact on biodiversity and waste… and making a profit.”

In Celemi Sustainability participants work in teams to drive a sustainability transformation for a fictional company and achieve success across a “triple bottom line” of people, planet, and profit. The facilitated experience shrinks a 10-year timeframe into a 3-hour to 1-day session.

“It’s dynamic, it’s rigorous, it’s not for the faint of heart, which means it’s a heck of a lot of fun for your customers to go through, and they’ll learn a lot, Libby told us. “They’re going to compete, they’re going to speak with each other, debate, negotiate, then make decisions.”

Mother will be proud.

One great thing for 02.28.23 – Beauty in sustainability: We discovered this story on Celemi’s blog:
The House of Fish sculpture park – Beneath the Mediterranean Sea, a sculpture garden is saving an ecosystem thanks to Paolo the Fisherman.
