Talent Development Tuesday
Building success in talent development – one thought at a time.
The promise of summer
“In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”
– Albert Camus
As summer approaches, many organizations start planning around schedules, vacations, and shifting workloads. Yet the season offers something far more meaningful for talent development professionals.
Summer creates room to slow down, notice more, and reconnect with experiences that spark fresh ideas and renewed energy.
Some of life’s most meaningful insight arrives outside the rush of the workday. It shows up during long walks, while traveling unfamiliar roads, around a grill with neighbors, or while watching kids chase fireflies into the evening.
Summer invites a different rhythm and, with it, a chance to reconnect with what inspires us, grounds us, and helps us see more clearly. The season may be the perfect reminder that growth isn’t always formal. People often return from time away more creative, patient, and connected.
As leaders and learning professionals, our role isn’t only to create development opportunities. It’s also to protect the space where curiosity, recovery, and fresh thinking can emerge. A rested mind becomes a ready mind.
Wishing you a summer filled with renewal, meaningful moments, and space to rediscover what inspires you.
