Talent Development Tuesday - The AI Readiness Gap (human icon and AI chip)

The AI readiness gap

“AI is probably the most important thing humanity has ever worked on. I think of it as something more profound than electricity or fire.”
– Sundar Pichai

Something big is happening in Miami tomorrow night — and we couldn’t be more excited to be at the center of it.

More than 100 talent, HR, and business leaders are set to gather at South Florida’s Barry University for AI Ready: The Dual Dilemma of Upskilling Your Workforce & Rewiring Your Organization — an event conceived and led by Advantage Partner Dr. Selen Turner, in partnership with Miami Tech Works and Barry University’s MS in Human Resource Development program.

Selen founded the Thrive Forward Leaders’ Forum because she believes South Florida’s leaders deserve a space for exactly this kind of real, practical, high-impact dialogue — and tomorrow night is the proof.

Attendees will dig into real-world case studies, hands-on frameworks, and roundtable discussions, and every person will leave with a custom 90-day AI readiness plan they can immediately put to work. That’s not a conference. That’s a catalyst.

Organizations are investing heavily in AI tools, pilots, and experiments. But the conversation has already moved on from adoption to execution: How do you actually change the way people work, lead, and decide in an AI-enabled world?

We’re not the only ones asking. This question is dominating boardrooms, LinkedIn feeds, and leadership agendas everywhere right now.

It’s not a technology question. It’s a leadership question. It’s helping leaders create clarity when things are ambiguous, make sound decisions when the pace is relentless, reinforce new behaviors before old ones snap back, and align teams around execution when everything feels like it’s shifting.

As AI accelerates speed and automation, it doesn’t make leadership less important. It makes leadership judgment more important.

Our perspective: AI readiness is leadership readiness.

The organizations that gain real advantage won’t win because they adopted AI first. They’ll win because their leaders helped people adapt, think critically, and execute consistently in an AI-enabled world.

That’s the work. And it’s work we love doing.

Reflection: Where in your organization is the gap not about tools — but about leadership capability?
