AI Index
AI adoption isn’t a technology challenge. It’s a people challenge.
The AI Index gives you the diagnostic clarity to know exactly where adoption is working, where it's stalling, and what to do about it.

Organizations have invested heavily in AI platforms and tools. But the reality on the ground is stark: most employees are using their new AI tools in superficial ways, if at all. The barrier isn't access — it's mindset, confidence, social signals, and support.
The AI Index gives you the diagnostic clarity to know exactly where adoption is working, where it's stalling, and what to do about it. It helps organizations understand exactly what’s holding their people back and enables high-context development journeys based on what their people actually need, not what leaders assume they need.
What the AI Index measures
Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior and UTAUT — decades of behavioral science on why people actually adopt new technology — the AI Index measures four conditions that drive adoption:
- Belief in Value — Do people believe AI will help them do their job better, faster, or with higher quality?
- Social Signals & Expectations — Do leaders and peers model AI use? Is it safe to try, or something to hide?
- Confidence & Ability — Do people feel capable of using AI tools in their role?
- Support & Resources — Do people have access to the tools, training, examples, and support that make AI practical?
These four conditions are measured across six research-backed mindsets: Testing & Learning, Test Your Gut, Learn It All, AI is a Team Sport, Future Back Thinking, and Stochastic — revealing not just where adoption stands, but why.
The participant experience
Not a traditional survey. The AI Index uses a card-based, swipe-style format — mobile-first, available in seven languages, and completable in 15 to 30 minutes. Every participant receives a personalized report showing their mindset profile, what's driving each result, and tailored "why this and how to grow" coaching guidance.
What leaders and executives see
Managers and team leads get dashboards that surface adoption patterns across their people. Executives get a single-view organizational snapshot: one readiness score against a sufficiency threshold, the four elements as a polar view, and six mindsets ranked. An Element × Mindset heatmap pinpoints exactly where to focus — and demographic cuts let you slice readiness by region, business unit, role, tenure, team size, and AI experience.
How it's packaged
The AI Index is available per license, or as an annual organizational readiness program for departments and enterprises. All deployments include a dashboard and executive readout. Typical stand-up time is approximately one week from signed SOW.
