Steve Jobs’ Business Courage
It was a sad day this month when we lost Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. But what extraordinary ideas he left us. One was his unique brand of business courage. In a recent Fortune blog, Geoff Colvin said that Jobs’ approach to business is especially important now, when economic chaos has paralyzed many leaders. Courageous leaders, in contrast, embody these strategies:
- Committing significant money – making value-added investments
- Rethinking layoffs – reaping the long-term benefits of keeping employees through tough times
- Going big – being bold and strategic, not timid
Geoff says, “Taking risks now is frightening. But as Jobs, Buffett, and other business champions keep showing us, it’s your only hope.”
Get courageous. Remember Steve. Read the blog »
