Building a new HR team in a remote world with Katie Purcell from Calendly

I’d say one of the big things was the commitment we’ve had from our CEO, from members of our leadership team to really see the value and impact of our work such that we got the budget, the head count, the resources to start to put it into play. I’d say that’s step one.

In the Hot Seat: Amanda Parola on what Agile Project Management is and why it’s such a beneficial project management process.

In this episode of The Talent Development Hot Seat, Andy welcomes Katie Purcell to the show. Katie leads People teams at Calendly, providing leadership in L&D, Business Partnership, Operations, Tech, and Analytics. Before Calendly, Katie held Executive People Leadership roles across various tech companies, including Apple, Adobe, and GE.

Katie pursued her career in HR and People following completing the undergrad Business/HR and Master’s HR Leadership programs at Michigan State University. While at GE, she had the opportunity to travel and live around the world with notable expat experiences in Scotland and Italy. She is now based in San Francisco but runs a remote team with people worldwide.
