Building workplaces where people feel valued, connected, and empowered
Fireside chat on culture, BlueEQ session light up third THRIVE Forward: Leaders' Forum in south Florida
MIAMI SHORES, Florida - Last night at Barry University, the THRIVE Forward: Leaders' Forum gathered for a powerful evening of connection, insight, and action. Hosted by Advantage Performance Group along with Barry University Program Director of MS in Human Resource Development Dr. Katya Matusevich, the session centered on what it truly means to build workplaces where people feel valued, connected, and empowered.
The evening began with a fireside chat featuring Melissa Uribe Gil, EVP at Costex Tractor Parts, whose passion for culture lit up the room. Melissa shared how culture isn’t just a “nice-to-have”—it’s the backbone of trust, accountability, and growth. She offered a behind-the-scenes look at how CTP is embedding purpose and values into every layer of the business strategy, creating a people-centered environment where values are lived, not just listed.
We then explored BlueEQ’s methodology and research on emotional intelligence and psychological safety guided by Lori Urban, an Advantage partner and BlueEQ master facilitator. Through real-world case studies and practical strategies, participants discovered new ways to elevate engagement and foster thriving cultures across industries.
From bold ideas to actionable takeaways, the evening was a testament to the power of intentional leadership in designing cultures the right way that values people and supports long-term success for the business.
Thank you to Barry University for hosting, to everyone who joined the conversation, and to the leaders who continue to champion culture as a strategic imperative.
Culture matters. Always has, always will.
