Talent Development Tuesday - Decisions, decisions (icon of a signpost pointing one way and the other)

Decisions, decisions

“When you come to a fork in the road, take it.
-Attributed to Yogi Berra

Every day we make thousands of small decisions. While we’d like to think most of them are the result of rational thought, that isn’t typically the case. It turns out our unconscious mind and heuristics, mental shortcuts that help us avoid cognitive overload, can have more influence than we realize.

When making big decisions, it’s important to make sure we are making the best choices possible, especially if the outcomes will impact many others or an entire organization. Fortunately, decision-making is a leadership skill we can practice and develop as we learn to weigh our options with greater awareness.

Drawing on research in neuroscience, decision theory and behavioral economics, Decision Mojo is a popular business simulation from our thought leader partner Brent Snow of Ten Thousand Feet that teaches strategies for making optimal decisions. Brent will lead a free 1-hour, interactive mini class via Zoom this Friday on decision-making as part of our back-to-school series on the evolving future of work in a hybrid office world.

Decide now to attend!
